Getting Ducks In A Row

With State Rep. Kevin Murphy getting the nod for City Manager, the 18th Middlesex is, now, an open seat. Over at richardhowe.com, Dick has begun to analyze the metrics (Link) that will be negotiated within the campaigning.

I want to highlight a simple, yet key observation.

While you go on with your busy lives, operatives are scurrying around trying to fashion the beginnings of a campaign around a candidate, or sadly, efforts to sabotage a candidate. Realistically, these efforts actually commingle. It's a race, after all.

At this point, those operatives are establishing the foundation of what will support the campaigns when they hit full stride. Intel suggests that some candidates have been plotting for some time now. Like they have a crystal ball at the Longmeadow. wink, wink, nudge, nudge (Link). In the name of good taste, the over the table efforts will launch immediately after Kevin Murphy resigns from the Massachusetts House of Representatives.

Most of you will not be approached by the various "pre-campaigns." But, those of you who are, in my humble opinion, may want to politely hedge the pressure, the flailing of loyalties, until you know the full field.
