Lowell's "Minuteman Mayor"

Unfortunately, I think Lowell got sucked into the negative frame slapped around Mayor Murphy's portrait. I'm starting to reconsider what Murphy was trying to tell us. I have always known Patrick as believing that 'public service' was a temporary thing, in elected office. He supported terms limits.
In that sense, I'll assert that Patrick Murphy's portrait is a reflection of the famous Minuteman statue. Where, the "minuteman" is a good citizen ANSWERING the call; Murphy's portrait depicts someone that has done their duty, and is returning to the home & plow.

PS. Speaking of 'frames,' did mayor Elliott, in last night's Council meeting, divulge that he intends on dragging his feet on getting Mayor Murphy's portrait properly framed and hung? I suspect he did.

  1. Mayor Elliott dismissed the subject portrait by saying, among other things, that it didn't even have a frame. However, it has been reported that Elliott's designated interim aide, Dave Conway, is the one that held the order for the frame. Is this a case of creating a problem, and then using that to justify your position?
